Ricky
After competing in the 2004/5 Global Challenge race around the world, Ricky threw off the shackles of corporate life and started sailing professionally. After gaining experience and qualifications, Ricky  again raced around the world, this time the right way around - with the prevailing currents and winds, as skipper in the Clipper Ventures 2007/8 round the world race.Ricky is passionate about his sailing and is keen to share his love of sailing and racing, and is the principal of the RYA recognised training centre - Debanessa Sailing School. When not sailing the oceans of the world, Ricky is busy in the classroom teaching theory and RYA shore based courses or can be found indulging his other passions of mountain climbing, running, cycling or learning how to surf.

Kirstie
After completing an Honours Degree in Outdoor Education and Design Technology Kirstie has worked in the Outdoor Industry in the UK for the last 10 years.  As well as building up an extensive knowledge of venues throughout North Wales, Cheshire and farther afield she has travelled to numerous countries and planned and led expeditions abroad for up to a month in duration.  2004 was the first time Kirstie sailed offshore, since then she has been hooked and accumulated many miles at sea, preferring to do long distance voyages and racing but also enjoying coastal cruising. Teaching an Outdoor program at a local school is rewarding and keeps her on her toes, teaching 9 year olds to adults.  She is passionate about the outdoors and wild places and loves to share these special places with others.
